From November 12 to 14, 2024, EnviroInfo 2024 took place at the German University in Cairo (GUC) under the motto “Shaping a Sustainable Future Together”. This year, the renowned conference was dedicated to transnational environmental challenges and the central role of digital inclusion for sustainable development. Researchers and experts from various disciplines discussed pioneering approaches for a greener and more inclusive future.
Our paper entitled “Green Delivery Analytics: Software Vision of a Planning Tool for Sustainable Last Mile Logistics”, which was submitted in this context, was presented in the Sustainability in Transportation and Logistics track. The paper dealt with the vision for the planned analysis software of the GDA project. The discussion with the participants led to valuable impulses that underlined the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation.

In addition to the scientific sessions, EnviroInfo 2024 also offered a range of cultural and social events that promoted intercultural exchange. Particularly noteworthy were the festive Nile Dinner, where guests could enjoy traditional Egyptian cuisine, and the impressive visit to the pyramids of Giza. These unique experiences made it possible to make valuable contacts beyond the scientific content and to get to know Egyptian culture better.

EnviroInfo 2024 impressively demonstrated how important it is to tackle global challenges together. The research results presented and the intercultural encounters provided new impetus for the further development of sustainable strategies in research and practice.
